From groundbreaking research and advanced treatments to compassionate, personalized care, Magee has been a leader in women’s health for generations. Whether welcoming new life, supporting complex health needs, or guiding patients through every milestone, our experts combine innovation with empathy to deliver care that inspires confidence and comfort. ST Health Magee is honored to have been designated as a Magnet-designated hospital – twice! At Magee, we don’t just treat patients — we care for people, families, and futures. Join us and be part of a team that’s shaping the future of women’s health.
The 20-bed Transitional Care Unit serves primarily short-stay recuperative and rehabilitation patients—a majority are geriatric and/or stable post-op orthopedic and oncology patients. The TCU is a family- and patient-focused environment where collaboration and communication are paramount, and you should be comfortable working with wound vacs, hoyer lifts, and standard IV therapy. You will partner with the patient and his or her family, along with a diverse roster of therapists and counselors to help the patient return home with as much independence as possible. The TCU features a wide array of recreational activities, 24-hour visitation for family and friends, and an onsite PT/OT gym. OAPSA clearance is required.
What can you Expect as a Professional Staff Nurse?
The Professional Staff Nurse provides highly competent patient care and treatment while demonstrating empathy and a passion for learning. A role that requires independent judgment, fluent communication, and candid partnership, the Professional Staff Nurse establishes relationships with physicians, other care providers, patients, and patients’ families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
As a Professional Staff Nurse and a member of the care delivery team, you will set the standards for the level and quality of nursing care and possess authority and accountability for its provision. At all times, you will exemplify a commitment to the community and to the nursing profession.
Note: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned this job. They are not exhaustive lists of all duties, responsibilities, knowledge, skills, abilities and working conditions associated with the job.
At ST Health, we’re passionate about continuing to support your growth throughout your nursing journey. We offer a robust career ladder for bedside nursing that starts with Professional Staff Nurse and leads to Expert Nurse and beyond. The final job title and rate of pay will be based upon both individual qualifications and candidate choice. Any required certifications and contributions based on job title will be afforded a timeframe to obtain.
