I never had to leave to grow. Every couple of years there was a new chapter waiting, and a manager who actively wanted me to outgrow them.
A memorable moment for me was standing up the night-shift residency I wished I'd had — and watching the first cohort become charge nurses.
Nurse Extern
Learned the floor and shadowed charge nurses on Med-Surg.
New-grad RN, Med-Surg
Joined the nurse residency and found her footing in acute care.
Charge Nurse
Ran the board on nights and mentored the new grads behind her.
Nurse Manager
Led a unit of 14 through a new-tower opening.
Director of Nursing

In their words
From the people who do the work

I started at the bedside. Pepper grew me into leadership — a residency year, tuition support, and a manager who asked "what's next for you?" every single year.
Maya S.Director of Nursing — started as a new-grad RN
In home health my patients get 100% of me. One patient at a time, real autonomy, and a team that always has my back on the hard days.
Priya K.Home Health RN · 6 years
The fellowship paired me with preceptors who had decades on the unit. A year in, I was confident taking the sickest patients on the floor.

FAQ
Questions about Nursing
More answers: every question in the FAQ archive
Is there a nurse residency program?
Yes — a 12-month, accredited residency for new-grad RNs with dedicated preceptors, simulation labs and a cohort that starts together.
Can I self-schedule?
Most inpatient units use self-scheduling in 4-week blocks, with weekend and holiday rotations shared equitably across the team.
Do you pay for certifications?
Specialty certification exams, renewals and review courses are covered — and certified nurses earn a differential.
What support exists at the bedside?
Clinical resource nurses on every shift, a no-lift equipment program, and unit councils where staff nurses drive practice changes.
How long does the application take?
About two minutes to start — Apply Start saves your spot with just an email, and resume autofill handles most fields when you finish in our careers portal.
When do benefits begin?
Day one. Medical, dental and vision coverage start on your first day for full- and part-time team members — no waiting period.
