Key ResponsibilitiesClean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments manually and mechanicallyAssemble surgical trays and set up case carts per procedure requirementsMonitor and document sterilizer parameters; troubleshoot equipmentMaintain inventory and ensure proper storage and distributionFollow infection control, safety, and sterile processing protocolsCommunicate effectively with team members and other departmentsParticipate in performance improvement and educational programsDemonstrate accountability, time management, and healthy work habitsBuild positive relationships and mentor othersUphold ST Health’s Core Values: responsibility, sensitivity, accuracy, timeliness, coordination, and thoroughnessReady to make a difference every day? Apply now and help us deliver safe, high-quality care to every patient, every time.Education/Experience:High school diploma/GED or equivalent with no experienceORCurrently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technician or Sterile Processing program (preferred)OR1 year of experience within ST HealthContinuing Education:Grandfathered technicians (no certification): Must complete 10 hours of continuing education annually to remain qualified.Certified staff: Must complete 10–12 hours of continuing education annually, as required by the certifying body.Staff pending certification (within 18 months of hire): Continuing education not required until certification is obtained.Physical Requirements:Must be able to stand for the entire shift.Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 35 pounds. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Employees in a Central Sterile position on or before 12/27/2020 are grandfathered and do not need certification unless moving to a position that requires it.Certification required for employees in PA and NY facilities (MD facilities are excluded).New hires in PA and NY have 18 months from hire to obtain certification.Accepted Certifications:Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) ORCertified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) with Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)Act 31, 33, 34, 73 clearances with renewalST Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran",
