ST Health Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a Full-Time Payment Application Specialist II to support the office in a hybrid role.

**Medical experience and insurance payment posting experience preferred.**

**Rate and Title will be determined based on education and experience.**

**Purpose:**
Responsible for the posting and balancing of payment and adjustment transactions including electronic processes. Responsible for posting denials, patient and insurance refunds.

**Responsibilities:**

- Adhere to Human Resource policies and procedures.

- Responsible for entering self-pay, insurance, and manual exception payments into the Epic billing system.

- Perform batch audits.

- Review manually posted payments and adjustments for accuracy.

- Responsible for entering payments/non-payment denials into the Epic billing system.

- Responsible for meeting departmental goals on a daily basis.

- Process third-party reimbursements with guidelines set forth in the department. Initiate the refund process to ensure timely return of misdirected revenue.

- Provide back up support for other staff members who perform various departmental functions.

- Process reimbursements to multiple billing systems and automated systems as required.

- 3 years' experience in a physician office or hospital business unit preferred.

- Must have experience in business functions such as registration, billing, payment posting and collections.

- Must have experience with medical terminology and reimbursement practices.

- Microsoft Word and Excel (or an equivalent package) and various office equipment.

- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communications skills.

- Must be able to work independently and as a team member.

- Must be able to meet departmental quotas on an ongoing basis.

- High school diploma or GED with three years' experience is required.

- Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business field is preferred.

**Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**

- Act 34 with renewal
